Frantzén Group expands to Australia with two new restaurants at Crown Resorts
Frantzén Group continues its international expansion with the announcement of two new restaurants in Australia, in partnership with Crown Resorts. Marking the Group’s first venture into the Australian market, the openings represent another milestone in Frantzén Group’s growing international presence.
Scheduled to open in 2027, the two restaurants will introduce distinct dining experiences on opposite sides of the country.
At Crown Sydney, Én by Björn Frantzén, a sibling restaurant to Frantzén in Stockholm, Zén in Singapore and FZN in Dubai, will present an intimate fine dining experience overlooking Sydney Harbour. Rooted in Björn Frantzén’s signature culinary philosophy, the restaurant will offer an immersive gastronomy experience where Nordic heritage meets Asian influences and French technique, brought to life through Australian produce and local ingredients.
At Crown Towers Perth, Brasserie Astoria will introduce Frantzén Group’s contemporary interpretation of the classic European brasserie. Combining refined cooking with an energetic atmosphere, the restaurant will offer an all-day dining destination inspired by timeless hospitality and adapted for its Australian setting.
Led by Chef and Founder Björn Frantzén, Frantzén Group has become one of the world’s leading restaurant groups, with acclaimed concepts across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Björn Frantzén is currently the only chef in the world to simultaneously hold three Michelin stars for three different restaurants: Frantzén in Stockholm, Zén in Singapore, and FZN in Dubai. Frantzén Group has earned global acclaim for its immersive tasting menus, meticulous technique, and lasting impression. The Australian ventures will draw on this legacy while embracing Australia’s local produce and culture.
Crown Resorts CEO, David Tsai, said: “We’re bringing some of the best concepts and biggest culinary names to Australia from every corner of the globe. These partnerships speak to the world-class experience Crown is building for the next generation of guests.”
Crown Sydney CEO, Ken Janssen, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Björn Frantzén to Crown Sydney. én represents a groundbreaking new era in Australian dining, and we are honoured to host a chef of Frantzén’s calibre. Guests won’t need a passport to experience this truly world-class immersive experience that reflects his signature style.”
Crown Perth CEO, Brian Pereira, said: “Brasserie Astoria continues the strong investment in Crown Perth and expansion of our range of new offerings – from casual meals at the Urban Food District to elevated fine dining. We’re confident that sophisticated Perth and travelling diners will embrace one of the world’s best restaurants in one of the world’s leading hotels.”
Björn Frantzén added: “Australia has long been on my radar for its incredible produce and vibrant food culture. Crown Sydney and Crown Perth offer the perfect stage to bring our vision to life, and I’m excited to share our culinary philosophy with a new audience.”
The two new venues represent the start of an exciting partnership with the Crown. Both restaurants will feature a multi-sensory dining journey, combining local Australian ingredients with Frantzén’s hallmark techniques and storytelling.
