The Frantzén Group has sold The Flying Elk, Corner Club and Gaston
The Flying Elk is restauranteur Björn Frantzén’s successful English inspired gastropub and it has, since its inception in 2013 been located in the Old Town in Stockholm. During these six years the restaurant has been awarded with, among others, Dagens Nyheter’s “Gulddraken”, scored 21/25 in Dagens Industri’s ratings and been recommended in Guide Michelin every year.
“It has been a privilege to run such a success as The Flying Elk has been and still is, especially with so many great co-workers over the years, says Björn Frantzén.
The Flying Elk, Corner Club and Gaston are all based on distinct gastronomic and interior concepts and the intention of the new owners is to manage and develop them with the same focus as today. The acquisition will take place on August 21, 2019.
The move from the Old Town is a part of a long term strategic plan the Frantzén Group is now undertaking. Two years ago, the flagship restaurant Frantzén moved out of the Old Town and opened up in the city and was shortly thereafter awarded three stars in Guide Michelin. In 2020, the Frantzén Group will be opening an international brasserie in the Astoria Building on Nybrogatan in central Stockholm. The group is also continuing its expansion abroad, with openings in Shanghai and Bangkok slated in 2020.
