Restaurant Frantzén reinvented at a new address
Chef and restaurateur Björn Frantzén is closing his two star restaurant Frantzén. The last dishes will be served in Gamla Stan on 9 July 2016. But the restaurant will be back in early 2017 at a new address. The new project involves a complete transformation of the Frantzén experience.
Restaurant Frantzén has won many awards and is among the most internationally acclaimed restaurants in Sweden. Most recently in February this year, Frantzén was awarded two stars in the Guide Michelin for the sixth year running. Now the restaurant will close, returning in a new guise and at a new address in Stockholm.
“It took us several thousand dishes to get where we are today. But the eight years in our venue on Lilla Nygatan were only the beginning. Now it is time for the next big step; creating the complete experience we’ve always dreamed of”, says Björn Frantzén.
When Frantzén opened in 2008, a total of two people worked at the restaurant. Today there is a staff team of 18, which is a major challenge for the restaurant at Lilla Nygatan.
“A visit to Frantzén is an intimate experience. Even though our new premises will be larger, the seating capacity will remain the same. This will give us the space we require to bring our vision to life. But before we close in Gamla stan in July we will be doing everything we can to make the last two months the best ever”, says Björn Frantzén.
It is planned that Frantzén will open at a new address in Stockholm early in 2017. The new restaurant will be run by Björn Frantzén and the current head chef Marcus Jernmark.
