Frantzén becomes the first restaurant in Sweden to be awarded with three stars in Guide Michelin.

Last night Frantzén was awarded its third star in the prestigious Michelin Guide at a ceremony in Copenhagen, which makes the restaurant the first in the country to reach the three stars. Neighboring countries Denmark and Norway each have one restaurant with three stars, and Frantzén’s stars marks a new era not only for the restaurant but also for Swedish gastronomy as a whole.

”I hope this brings more attention to the gastronomy scene in Sweden and Stockholm. It proves that we’re able to truly deliver on another level even in Sweden”.

The restaurant was awarded two Michelin stars after two years in service on the former location in Gamla stan, Stockholm. The establishment moved to a new address in central Stockholm during the fall of 2017 to create a full concept spanning several floors and developing the gastronomy further while keeping the intimate setting.
”It took us thousands of dishes and a little over eight years, but now we’re ready to bring it to the next level”, said Björn Frantzén about the relocation before the restaurant opened.

“Björn Frantzén has created a unique vision of Nordic cuisine, combining sublime ingredients with astounding culinary techniques. Björn Frantzén’s gastronomic expression is truly worth the journey, and is a gustatory experience like no other”, says Michael Ellis, International Director of the Michelin Guide in a press release earlier this morning.
