Frantzén Group brings Brasserie Astoria to Marbella

Frantzén Group’s Brasserie Astoria opens in Nueva Andalucía, Marbella, Spain, on May 26, 2025. Reservations open on April 25 at brasserieastoria.es

The Frantzén Group, led by acclaimed Swedish chef Björn Frantzén, brings the eclectic Brasserie Astoria, renowned for reviving the grandeur of 19th-century dining halls, is set to premiere in restaurant Dorsia’s former location in Nueva Andalucía on May 26.

The Spanish outpost will accommodate 234 guests and feature a spacious terrace, private dining room as well as indoor and outdoor bars. This marks the group’s debut in Spain and the third Brasserie Astoria, following the flagship in Stockholm and the Singapore outpost, which launched in 2023.

This new Brasserie mirrors its Stockholm flagship, which occupies what was once the Astoria Cinema. The Swedish building, dating back to the 1870s, was carefully restored, evoking a time when Stockholmers, eager to escape the harsh realities of war and depression in the 1920s, flocked there to be entertained and socialize. Its rich history, elegant design, and Brasserie Astoria’s hospitality have made it a sought-after dining destination for both locals and tourists alike.

In a similar fashion, Marbella’s Brasserie Astoria is set to revive the spirit of grand dining halls, featuring flambe trolleys, tableside service, and Chef Frantzén’s unique take on classic brasserie fare. The dining room is energized by an infectious playlist curated by Chef Frantzén and DNA Director Stefan Gissberg.

Guests at Brasserie Astoria Marbella will be offered an extensive à la carte menu, wine list, and a unique cocktail menu. The à la carte menu is headlined by Toast Astoria, a nod to traditional Swedish Toast Skagen, with mounds of Baltic prawns and Norwegian king crab dressed in wasabi aioli and served atop crisp sourdough.

Chef Frantzén said: “Following the success of Brasserie Astoria in Stockholm and Singapore, we’re excited to bring it to Marbella—a place close to my heart, where I’ve spent countless summers. We’re eager to introduce this exciting new chapter of the Frantzén Group to this vibrant city”
